Y3 is a sportswear-chic brand born in 2001 from a collaborative effort between Adidas and the avant-garde Tokyo stylist Yohij Yamamoto. Even the choice of the Y3 name/logo communicates the fortunate union of the brands with graphic immediacy, placing the initial of the designer name and the number of stripes in the Adidas logo. The Y3 collection is characterised by simplicity and function, inheriting from Yamamoto the innovative mixes of fabrics, the rewriting of the silhouette and the designer’s predilection for total black.
